Catch a Ride and Go Green!
City of Rocky Mount's Tar River Transit is in the process of replacing its bus fleet! The transition will take place over the coming weeks. Keep your eyes out for the new blue buses on the routes, but also check them out on the "more alerts" page.
Tar River Transit has added a new Trip Planner feature sponsored by Google Maps. Passengers can customize their route by simply entering the date and time that they hope to arrive at their destination (or depart for the trip) and the trip planner will provide 3 options, showing the amount of time and number of transfers for each option, letting you easily select the most convenient trip. The feature also includes walking directions so passengers can find out exactly how to get to the nearest transit stop.
Please be sure to use our new Bus Tracker. This allows passengers to view current locations of each bus route in real time. Visit the live Bus Tracker Page to learn more.
If you have a disability that prohibits you from getting to a established bus stop, contact Dial-A-Ride: 252-972-1174
